Diskoa ja hamppareita.

Perjantaina paatimme tyoskentelyn lasten kanssa askartelemalla aakkoset kirjaston seinalle. Lapset piirsivat kirjaimet papereille, joista leikkasimme sabluunat. Kirjaimet painettiin sormivareilla aikaisemmin valmistamillemme kierratyspapereille. Tanaan valmistamme kynttiloita (jos on kaasua) ja huomenna ja tiistaina piirramme ja painamme Sunu ker-, Santhiaba- ja Serigne Touba-paitoja.

Eilen olimme shoppailemassa tuliaisia Grand Yoffin torilla, sitten Beseaussa rannalla ja illalla veimme poikia tanssimaan laheiseen Tropic-diskoon. Ei taalla ole yleensa kellaan mahdollisuutta menna edes diskoon, koska sisaanpaasymaksuun, 2000 cfa (n. 20 mk), ei ole kellaan varaa. Kaikilla oli hauskaa ja viimeiset pennoset laitettiin hampurilaisiin. Luksusta :) Mukana minun, Veeran ja Mintun lisaksi olivat Joe, Sire, pikku Babacar, Sidibe ja pari poikaa joiden nimia en nyt muista.

Ristiriitaiset tunnelmat on kotiinpaluun suhteen, sauna ja puhtaat lakanat houkuttelevat kylla, ja se, etta voi nukkua peiton alla ja on ehka kylma, tuntuu kivalta ajatukselta vaihteeksi. Disco and hamburgers.

On Friday we ended working with children by making alphabet on the library wall. The children drew the letters on paper and we cut stencils from them. Then they printed the letters with fingerpaints on the recycled paper we had earlier made. Today we´ll make candles (if there is gas) and tomorrow and on Tuesday we´ll draw and print t-shirts.

Yesterday we were shopping presents in Grand Yoff´s market place, then went to Beseau and in the evening we took the boys to dance to Tropic. Usually these people can´t afford even a disco, because the entry is too expensive, 2000 cfa. We were having lots of fun and last coins were spent on hamburgers :)

I don´t really know what to think about going home, I like the thought of sauna and clean sheets and sleeping under a blanket in a cool bed. But on the other hand, I don´t want to leave. It´s amazing that even yesterday we floated in the turquoise water, lounged and ate at the beach. And the best thing is the people and their joy of living. I wish we had that in Finland.
